Hello Everyone!
Just thought I'd check in and see how you are all doing? Its nearly the 4th of July. If we were able to stick to the schedule we would be all finished reading the entire Bible! Are we there yet?
I am still working on the New Testament. Since its more familiar I decided to spend more time and go more in depth. Might not finish until the end of summer but that is ok, the most important thing is to hear what it is God wants to say.. no matter how long it takes!
I listened to a GREAT sermon that ties it all together nicely. You can listen to it too. It is from Cross Roads Community church. Click on Cross Roads website to get the home page. Then choose live streaming. Next go to "watch an archive of current services" go to Wednesday and finally, listen to Love Worth Fighting For:Rising Above. You can hear it right there and then on your computer or get it pod casted for I Tunes if you prefer. (Its easier to do than it sounds like it would be in writing!)
Wishing you all a wonderful 4th of July and a terrific summer. Lets stay connected! We still have celebrating to do...

New Testament!
Hi All,
I am like Janice - just finished the OT and looking forward to the New. The big message I got in the old testament is how much God wants us to know and love HIM, to worship HIM and to be with us into all eternity!
The new testament is his way of giving us a gps.... Jesus is the Way, the truth, and the light! No need to "recalculate" if you stay on HIS path.
Blessings to all!
Margie

Still Reading!
Hello to all,
WOW! I am still reading...a little behind, but still hanging in there! Are you? I am not discouraged...as I was earlier that I was behind then, too! I am 12 days behind, but WILL finish reading before the end of July or earlier! We have a short road trip the end of next week, and I hope to have time to read and listen while we drive.
I am seeing God in many ways each day. Yes, even in nature, Georgene! The girls and Troy have seen their first fawn of the season in the last two days. I am anxiously looking to spot my first little one.
Finishing up Malachi now and heading into Matthew! Yeah! I heard a sermon one time and the gentleman shared that if we listened to the Bible while we drove at least 15 minutes a day, we'd have heard the entire New Testament in 30 days. I am going to be reading/listening to more than that each day, so who knows, I might even be done by the 4th of July! FREEDOM...and I know it is God that gives it to us.
The verse that jumped out this morning is: Malachi 3:6a For I am the Lord, I change not... Isn't THAT good news! He loves us and desires us to be right with Him! Praying for that today! That my thoughts, words, and actions would be pleasing to Him!
Blessings on each of you,
Janice

Greetings,
I am back from Alaska, and trying to get my sleeping patterns back on track. Unfortunately I have drifted little behind in my reading but definitely am not giving up as I so enjoy doing this. I am learning lots and it has been a blessing. While in Alaska my sister in law handed me a book called GOD and asked me to look at it, said she had read it and found it very helpful and wanted to know what I thought
Well, the first few pages or so gave me a clue what it was about, according to the authors view of his studies. #1 he stated "God is not a saint," then goes on to tell about all his dealings in the old testament and his anger and what he felt he truly was, and that was not a "True God" who loved from the begining and was immortal. He made mistakes and finally got it right in the new testament. Need less to say I didn't read it through. My sister in law left christianity behind several years ago and is into buddisim. So I continue to pray for her and love her, as she is a awesome women. Had a wonderful time during my visit. If you have never been to Alaska you must go, it is beautiful and you get a feeling you don't get most other places. Lots of space there.
People are very laid back and friendly I would like to go into interior Alaska sometime. You behold God's handiwork everywhere.
God is patient with us and I am so thankful he lets us choose to believe what we may even though it must break his heart to see when we turn our backs on him, we must remember he is always open to our coming back if we are sorry and truly want his ways. Today unfortunately as in Bible times as we have been reading people turn to other gods as they can do, believe, and feel as they so choose. We know many will return praise God.
As ever Georgene

Slowly moving along!
Hello All,
Well, I made it to Esther this morning. Found a great new website too. This link puts you right at the book of Esther if you should want to take a peek.
Seems I am taking baby steps in my journey. Life keeps tossing logs in the path.
Charles' mom passed away on the 15th and this week we will be spending time with one another and family in celebration of her life. She would have been 86 next month. There is joy even in the sadness of losing her, because she was a child of God - and we know she will be greeting us when make our own transition from this world and join her to live in eternity with our Loving God!
As I read through the Word it boggles my mind how those who don't know Him get through this life? Over and over I read about how lives are changed once "humbled before the Lord", and I pray that my life honors our God and that others see joy when they see His love living in me.
Its clear that all He asks is that we Choose Him, First, Foremost and Forever. Then we can be sure ...
"The LORD himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged." Deuteronomy 31:8

Still traveling through
Hello fellow Bible trekkers!
I just wanted to let you know that I am still reading through the Bible! And now listening some, too! I was getting behind a few weeks ago and had thoughts about stopping or slowing down a lot, but Praise the Lord, I remembered my husband had audio CD's by Alexander Scourby, and have combined listening with folding clothes, making our bed, getting dressed, doing my hair, doing dishes, etc... I don't think I am retaining as much, but it is still good to hear the Word being read.
So...if you are like me and have gotten behind, keep going!
I am praying for each of you! May God place His angels of strength and mercy to surround you and bless you!

Blessings to you all. My prayers truly go up for you CAO, Satan knows his time is short, but praise God he is the victor.
I see why Satan doesn't want us or any one else for that matter to read God's word and especially like we are. He wants to keep us away from truly seeing each day what a loving, gracious God we serve. He rather treat us like Job and makes us feel God doesn't care and really isn't there beside us. He's lost the battle and though we may be bowed down with trials of all sorts there are numerous intercessors and Jesus the greatest of them all intervening in our behalf to give us strength and courage to keep our eyes upward.
The Psalm keep repeating the way God led his children through the wilderness and showing continually how great and good he is and that He is FOREVER with us to his coming. God's promises are sure.
May God wrap his arms of love around each of you to feel his loving presence. He's with us no matter where we are in our reading.

Where are you?
Hi All,
I've been so busy! Went to a three day trip to see my daughter Cara and her family over Mother's Day. Then back to 2 extremely busy and long 12 hour shifts at work! Will get back on track by Friday. It would be ever so helpful if you all would let me know where you are with your reading as we are at the halfway point. (I am still in week 5 myself....) I want to keep the blog current but also want to focus on where most of us are in our reading. So please let me know :-)
Also be in prayer for CAO; she is having MAJOR crisis issues since she started reading with us and giving it up to God. Satan is happily trying to undo her and her whole family!
Blessings!

Marching On
I so agree when you said that it is good to see the whole picture when reading from beginning to end. I'm also glad to hear that it is good to trudge on even when you are really behind. I switched cars this week and I miss the peace the bible gives me when listening on the way home. I get so caught up in the little problems at work that they become big problems when they are really nothing in the big picture.
Hope all is well with everyone - Keep on reading and listening!!!!!!

Greetings,
I am not sure where I should be, I am starting in book of Ester, and have lost my paper with all the texts and readings for the 90 days, have only until the 3rd on my calendar. Keep looking for the weeks posting so I can write it on my calendar. I am truly being blessed and so thankful for this undertaking. Was telling a friend I had read 16 books so far and how I was enjoying getting the whole story almost in one setting, and she said wow I took a year to do it.
Though we may get behind we must trudge forward to reach the goal it is so worth it. And the time spent getting better acquainted with our Lord out surpasses any other project.
Praying for you all and so need yours also.
God bless

Here we are after all the "did what was right in eyes of Lord" or "did evil in eyes of the Lord". Because of all the evil, they end up in Babylon captives of Nebuchadnezzar. Still through it all God was there to the "remnant" and he went with them into captivity. Now to review it all again and see the beginning of our godly heritage, our roots, and rediscovering our foundation.
We can thank our spiritual forefathers for passing down the truths about our Lord and what he requires of us to be this generation who passes on God's truth.
I believe God has placed me in my wilderness at this time to truly see who I am and what I truly want to be. It reafirms I will meet my maker when He comes.
Praying for everyone we are in troubleless times.

A Really Bad Day
Thanks for the prayers.. Things are better :-) The nodule on the lung is being monitored but no intervention beyond that for now. And the other elements that contributed to the bad day are being dealt with... turns out it was one of those really tough times where God makes known how much he cares; sometimes we see Him best through tears.
Dear Friends,
Please keep praying for our reading partner who was found to have a lesion on her lung... yesterday she had a really bad day.
Thank you Sisters!

Still Exiting
Ok - I'm a lot behind, I'm still in Exodus reading about the architectural makeup of the temple. What is a cubic?
I did get the CDs and I like their reading of it but it doesn't tell you where you are at so I'm not sure if I'm almost exited Exodus. They change the voices so it really helps to understand who is speaking.
P.S.
So glad Cara had a better day. Sometimes it just takes the simple sweetness of a child to show us the right way.

Reading, reading, hard to believe we have read 8 books and now in our 9th one as we go into our 4th week. Again what can one say about how great our God is, and even amongst the blood and battles he is fair and THERE. Samuel was given to the Lord and became a great prophet, anointing Saul as King since the people were so insistent on having what everyone else had. Saul unfortunately gets to high and mighty and let his success go to his head, which caused his severing his connection to God. Samuel then anoints David as instructed of God and through the course of circumstances he becomes king as Saul dies. One of the things David learned as did Joshua, not to be afraid. God told Joshua "Be strong and courageous, do not be terrified, do not be discouraged for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go." Joshua 1:9. Today that is a very important message for all us to remember, we are in a battle against good and evil also but our commander has given us the above promise and we must forge forward ready to do his will.
Got a little behind, but am catching up, just can't get off track.
God's blessings to you all.

Things that make you go hmmmmm
Well, isn't this weeks reading interesting? More stories about the falling away from God, more gore, blood and yuck.
This morning I read about Samson, now there is an interesting character. Hmmm. My reading finished today at the end of Judges, and the whole horrific episode involving the Benjamites... makes ya go hmmmm! A lot to ponder.
Listening to Wednesday's (4/16) online teaching from Crossroads church helped me make more sense of it. The point of the message was about how we are all family, sometimes family messes up BIG TIME and there must be justice. But you still love 'em, pray that they will make the way back to what is right and be restored back into the circle of the love that is FAMILY. Isn't that what our Heavenly Father wants for all of us?

Greetings again from Arizona, where the sun is shining and about mid 80's today. I am sorry I posted first part of the week but apparently it didn't go through as the computer froze about that time.
I am enjoying my travels with the Israelites, amazing how much it has applied to some avenues in my life right now. So am thanking God for this opportunity to be a part of this.
I agree that parts are hard to read because of the destruction of people etc. but that helps us to see the reality of what sin did then and is still doing in our world today. We are in a battle as they were for our souls, and often it isn't pleasant, not sure about you but I wouldn't mind just being on the sidelines, unfortunately we are immersed also as we live here.
Moses has died, Joshua has died, both great leaders who instructed and showed them how much God wanted to bless them and make them a great nation and He did. He fulfilled his promises to them. Did they fulfill their duty to him? Apparently not as there were still remaining inhabitants from the land that they had neglected to clear out. Now they had to contend with them and the issues, problems they brought to them. Mostly turning away from God and to the other gods of the inhabitants and they as individual tribes were now responsible for driving out the remaining enemy from its own territory.
One thing though as we read this we must understand, God is not partial, all people are eligible
for God's gracious forgiveness as well as for his firm justice . Choice, that is what Joshua said,
"choose for your selves this day whom you will serve,-----. But as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord."
God's blessing to you all.

Important Prayers
Dear Friends,
One of the ladies that is reading the Bible in 90 Days along with us was having chest pain that sent her to the hospital yesterday. Tests showed that she has a nodule on her lung. Today she is heading to the doctor's office to learn more about what this might mean and what will be done. PLEASE PRAY ... She needs to feel the power of our prayers through our Lord's Love surrounding her as she goes through all that may be involved.
(She has only shared this with a few close family and friends so at this point I feel that I should keep her identity confidential.)
Thank you all so much for your kindness and faithfulness.

Unsure if this will show up in the right place but hope it does. I would love to say that I'm right on schedule, my house is clean and my pets are perfect but that would not be truthful. What I can say is that I have not given up and I'm glad I'm being challenged.
Margie - will say extra prayers. I had no idea Cara was going through so much.

Prayer Request
Dear Sisters,
Would you please pray for my daughter Cara and her little girl Tehya? Tehya will be 4 years old on May 3. She has CP and a severe seizure disorder. After years of tests and many hospitalizations, there is no known cause or cure for her medical problems (it seems to be metabolic but nobody knows exactly what the core issue is). She doesn't walk or talk and is fed through a tube. Her legs are currently both casted in hopes of strengthening them so that she may someday be able to bear weight. For the last few months Tehya has been battling respiratory and ear infections; she doesn't "cure" easily as she is allergic to nearly all antibiotics.
In the last few days, Tehya's been crying for hours on end. She wakes from sleep and seems to be in pain. Her mom, Cara, is struggling with feelings of hopelessness and today she told me she is "giving up on God", "I have had it, I am tired of hoping, praying and trying to believe, I don't think He really cares!"
Can you join with me in asking our Lord to make His presence known to Cara? That she and Tehya might feel His loving embrace and that they may find peace and rest in Him.
Thank you so much!
Margie
UPDATE - Thank you all for praying. Cara is feeling reconnected to the Lord who made His presence known to her again through her 7 year old as he prayed out loud for her, "Dear God, Help mommy to have a better day and help Tehya too." Cara says, " if he can trust and believe how can I not?"

Talking Donkey
Anyone catch that? A talking donkey... in the Bible. How can anyone get bored with this story?

UhOh
Are you as impressed as I am at the incredible number of descendants in the desert with Moses? Thinking back how they are got the start with Abraham and Sarah... that's allot of "grand babies"!
And it is just one example of how powerful and faithful to His word our Lord is! So when Korah, Dathan and Abiram lose sight of Him, lose respect for the living God and rebel..uh oh!
It seems so harsh as I read it. And it is hard to reconcile this to the way I picture God. But, when I think it through, it is a strong reminder of how much God really does love us. He offered a different way to relate to us in love. Because He sent Jesus! Jesus to suffer because of us, for us and so that we can be present to the love and power of our God forever! Let us never lose sight of HIM lest we also be swallowed up by this world.

Greetings,
Another day of experiencing life with the Israelites. It continues to thrill and amaze me to see just how orderly and precise God is. If they and we would just follow his instructions how blessed we would be. How blessed they were even as they didn't do as he commanded and gave instructions to follow. Every tribe had a significant order and task they were to accomplish, from the setting up of the sanctuary to taking it back down. The anointing of the tribe of Levi to be set apart in just care for the sanctuary and it's services.
Today God calls each of us and gives us gifts to use for him in his service. It takes everyone and all gifts to make a sanctuary (church) complete. Each is special to God. Keep reading and get to know Him better and all he did for our salvation.

Georgene
I have been a bit slow getting my comments added to this blog as this is a new undertaking for me on the computer so pray it gets to the right place.
As I have been doing my reading each a.m. I just keep anchoring my faith and trust in Jesus everyday as I see his workings unfold for his people, and are we any different? As we have walked with those who walked with God and witness their remaining faithful through all types of trials and experiences and arriving at the building of the sanctuary where God would come down and dwell among them it so makes the song "Lord Prepare me to be a sanctuary pure and holy tried and true, and with thanksgiving be a living sanctuary for you." Thank you for inviting me to join in this fantastic adventure as we walk through the scriptures each day.
God bless Georgene

WOW
Ok, this is kinda strange... it hit me for the first time this morning. How many times have I heard the story of Moses and the Isralittes? The plagues, the parting of the Red Sea? The Ten Commandents? Yet today they became real to me. I mean these folks really lived, those events really happened!
Its so much more than just a great story! WOW

~Weekend Challenge~
Wow, we made it to the weekend. Well, you all made it to the weekend; its my weekend to work!
I have a challenge for you all. I just did it myself and it was pretty easy! If you have a little extra time this weekend, create your profile. It would be a great way to get to know more about each other!
Greatest Story Ever Told
Hello all,
This is Carolyn from Gaston. I have been listening to the Old Testament on CD and love it. I raise Chihuahuas so have lots of "dog chores" which take at least 4 hours per day. I have been listening to the story 2-3 times, while do these chores, and enjoying every minute. We have all heard this story called The Greatest Story Ever Told and now I understand why. The granduer of this world and of this story takes my breath away.
Blessings to all,
CAO

A Map of "Us"!?!
Hi to each of you!
I have been thinking today that I'd like to know where each of you are living? Would you be so kind as to email me at abundantliving.jb@gmail.com and tell me the city and state of where you are living? I will compile the "results" and then do one post on the blog and let everyone know where we all are!
So...I am in Joseph, Oregon. My friend Georgene is in Glendale, AZ, and my friend Debbie is in LA. And of course, I know Margie is in Yamhill, Oregon!
Heading to bed and praying for each of you! Dede

This is good!
Good Morning to all!
I am on track and enjoying reading through the Bible with the Holy Spirit and each of you! It gives me encouragement to know others are joining me and doing the same thing.
I have been getting up EARLY and trying to complete my reading time before everyone else in the house gets up and starts in on the noise and distractions. How about you? When are you doing your reading?
I was struck this morning about Joseph! What training he must have had in his formative years! As a mom of teenagers, I am thinking are my daughters (almost 17...same as Joseph!) are they honorable and capable servants? Praying for them!
I found myself not wanting to stop reading this morning. I didn't care for the break for today, so I read on a bit to be ahead for tomorrow!
Praying for each of you that you may be blessed abundantly, above all that you could ask or think!

Day 2 Genesis 17-28:19 (I read through 28)
What a group! Sodom and Gomorrah. Then there's Lot and his lack of faith which leads to a decision to isolate in a cave even after God saved Zoar as a safe city for him. That contributes to his daughters "stinking thinking" and their incestuous acts because they didn't trust God to bring them husbands and children. (Even after he brought them out of Sodom and Gomorrah, how limited we become when we don't look to the Lord!)
Yet there are stories of great blessing with faith. The richness of Abraham when he trusted in the Lord. The birth of Issac! The near death of Issac! The promise of more blessings as Abraham obeys his FATHER and becomes the father of a great nation. Wow!
The story of Isaac and Rebekah sounds like a Disney fairy tale. Complete with love at first sight and the birth of twins. But there is the twist of one twin plotting with his mother against the other...
Can't wait to read more!

Its our first day on the trail... Reading the Bible in 90 Days.
Not a small commitment but one that can be done! And how exciting to know that we are working together to meet our God and our Goal.
This is a place to share our thoughts, our prayers, and our blessings as we meet the Challenge. Blogging is new to many of us - including me. Let us not be afraid but instead embrace the opportunity to share freely.
Anything you post here is confidentially shared only with others in our Reading Group. No one else has access to this site.
So lets get started....Let the Blessings Begin!
