What??? Please share your thoughts!

What was in that wine? What is up with this whole story? Who would've thought that incest would be part of the Bible? Are you reading this??? Why do you think its an important account and what is God trying to teach us that makes it so important that He wanted it to be known? This is something that we would try to keep secret....
Lot and His Daughters
30Lot and his two daughters left Zoara and settled in the mountains,b for he was afraid to stay in Zoar. He and his two daughters lived in a cave. 31One day the older daughter said to the younger, “Our father is old, and there is no man around here to give us children—as is the custom all over the earth. 32Let’s get our father to drink wine and then sleep with him and preserve our family linec through our father.”d
33That night they got their father to drink wine, and the older daughter went in and slept with him. He was not aware of it when she lay down or when she got up.e
34The next day the older daughter said to the younger, “Last night I slept with my father. Let’s get him to drink wine again tonight, and you go in and sleep with him so we can preserve our family line through our father.”f 35So they got their father to drink wineg that night also, and the younger daughter went in and slept with him. Again he was not aware of it when she lay down or when she got up.h
36So both of Lot’s daughters became pregnant by their father.i 37The older daughter had a son, and she named him Moab1;j he is the father of the Moabitesk of today. 38The younger daughter also had a son, and she named him Ben-Ammi2; he is the father of the Ammonites3l of today.

Reading and Praying with you all!

Hello and Happy New Year to each of you!

How is everyone doing with reading through the Bible? I am a bit behind due to company last weekend. Some of them slept in the living room, and my worship basket with Bible and notes are there and I forgot to get them before going to bed! But I am almost caught up.

Thank you, Margie, for inviting us on this journey again! This will be at a slower pace and I do feel like I am getting more from the readings.

I marked my Bible in green last time and marked cool things like different women's names (that I'd never noticed before!), rocks, tree names, animals, plus verses that jumped out at me, etc.
What color should I mark with this time? I have been just using a pen, but think I should definitely use another color.

I am praying for each of you now! God is good! And despite all the very sad happenings of this earth, He wants us to surrender to Him and look for His soon return!

Blessings!
Dede aka Janice :-)
