Georgene

Greetings again from Arizona, where the sun is shining and about mid 80's today. I am sorry I posted first part of the week but apparently it didn't go through as the computer froze about that time.

I am enjoying my travels with the Israelites, amazing how much it has applied to some avenues in my life right now. So am thanking God for this opportunity to be a part of this.

I agree that parts are hard to read because of the destruction of people etc. but that helps us to see the reality of what sin did then and is still doing in our world today. We are in a battle as they were for our souls, and often it isn't pleasant, not sure about you but I wouldn't mind just being on the sidelines, unfortunately we are immersed also as we live here.

Moses has died, Joshua has died, both great leaders who instructed and showed them how much God wanted to bless them and make them a great nation and He did. He fulfilled his promises to them. Did they fulfill their duty to him? Apparently not as there were still remaining inhabitants from the land that they had neglected to clear out. Now they had to contend with them and the issues, problems they brought to them. Mostly turning away from God and to the other gods of the inhabitants and they as individual tribes were now responsible for driving out the remaining enemy from its own territory.

One thing though as we read this we must understand, God is not partial, all people are eligible
for God's gracious forgiveness as well as for his firm justice . Choice, that is what Joshua said,
"choose for your selves this day whom you will serve,-----. But as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord."

God's blessing to you all.
