Puzzling

Sometimes what I read in the Bible just puzzles me!  Like my post about Lot's daughters, I wonder WHY is that an important thing for me to know?  

In the section we are reading now, Exodus 4:24-26 has me stymied.  Why would God, who has just called Moses to action, want to kill him???  How did his wife know it was related to circumcision?  Why would it be ok for her to solve the problem, not Moses himself?

Anyone have thoughts/insights?
